| In
the heart of Victoria there is a building which the Lord has led us to
pray for that it shall become the base and centre of Holy Nation Church.
The building was originally built as a church
in 1766 by the Chaplain to King George III and it is situated just 50
yards from Buckingham Palace itself.
The Lord has in many and various ways confirmed
to us that He wants His building back, not least through the Rainbow
which appeared over the building which we took a photo of.
The Lord has led us to put details of this
vision on our website in order to politely request of you that you would
join with us in prayer for this property. These two verses we were
particularly led to: Isaiah 60v11 & Hebrews 2v2
The property is currently in the ownership of a
property developer who desires to demolish it and create apartments.
As we mentioned, originally this building was a
church and was used by the then Royal Family. From the early 1900's the
building changed hands and ownership and usage a number of times with
its final use being as a Theatre to stage plays about morality.
Sadly, many churches have been sold or let to
secular use - properties that our forefathers built for the glory of God
and after at great personal cost. Please join with us to take back the
ground for the Lord - the Lord wants His building back!
Our vision and plan for the Main
Areas of the Building:
Listed here under is a short description of
some of our proposed uses for it:
1. Main auditorium
The auditorium showed sit 600 people
and two of the primary uses of the main auditorium are to hold large
gospel crusades/healing meetings and also that as a church we may use it
for services.
Once again, the 'heart' of London is being
prepared by God to reach the nations of the world with the Gospel of
Jesus Christ. We propose to use the building for broadcasting live
church services/crusades - even showing miracles of healing as they
happen. A large stage in the auditorium would enable us to continue
activity of Christian drama productions; plays about morality; concerts;
charity shows; fund-raising events for Chinese Orphanages etc. We
certainly see the Performing Arts as a tremendous avenue for bringing
the Gospel. We also would like to mention that we desire to make the
building available to other Christians and churches who've experienced
similar problems to ourselves in respect of hiring halls and the
extremely high costs involved.
2. Conference Room
The Conference Room will have several
uses. Prayer-Breakfasts; conferences; seminars; smaller church meetings
and 'Saturday Night Life.' Saturday Night Life is an open meeting where
a meal is freely available and we take the theme of a particular nation.
We eat a typical meal from that land's cuisine, dress as they would;
sing their songs and learn about that country. At the end of the evening
time is then spent praying and interceding for that land and asking for
God's blessing upon it. We also plan to incorporate our evenings praying
for Israel and the Jews along similar lines to Saturday Night Life.
Being next to a kitchen, the Conference Room will also be ideal for
men's/women's meals; banquets; Full Gospel Business Men and other
similar functions. In addition to the above, the Conference Room will
also facilitate our Bible School which will be open to outsiders to
attend as well.
3. Industrial Kitchens
Two kitchens will provide us with
excellent cooking facilities and enable us to organise meals for
homeless people in the area. We will both be able to invite homeless
people in on a regular basis, and also take meals out to where they are.
We have listed many of the uses and purposes for which we propose to use
the Lord's building. Obviously the building will be a superb facility
and afford us the size and design to fulfill all that God has called us
to do. The building is old and in places requires much work to be done
on it but we see this as a positive aspect in that much can be learnt in
Discipleship by those residing on short-term stays.
4. Bed sits
The building will contain a number of
small rooms which will be put to a variety of uses, such as:
a) Released prisoners wishing to make a fresh start could be
accommodated. We've discovered that one reason why so many prisoners
re-offend is because very often they have little choice but to return to
their past associates for assistance upon release. Having lost their
homes and jobs, a return to crime is often the only alternative. We will
provide short-term accommodation; help to find employment and permanent
housing; but most importantly a 'helping-hand' out of the vicious
circle.
b) We obviously meet many homeless people and really desire to make
facilities available for them. By providing them with shelter, food, a
clean-up, and the vital mailing address for employment purposes, they
can then begin to move forward and progress on in life.
c) We have a couple of missionaries who work with us without salary and
it would be appropriate to allow them a room each. Though there will be
a number of rooms, we don't envisage any problems filling them up!
5. Office Facilities
There will be several offices which we
will also quickly fill. Apart from our own administrative needs, there
would be space required for television satellite ministry; prison
ministries; children's ministry; homeless ministry; performing arts;
graphic design for posters etc; counselling rooms; dietician's clinic
(we have a fully qualified dietician in our team); Divine healing
centre; prayer rooms for our 24 hour prayer service and helpline; and
many other uses such as language classes etc.
6. Foyer
The foyer area will be used for a
Christian Bookshop and daily drop-in/coffee bar. This will be open for
anyone to come in and find a member of our team willing to listen; pray
with you; counsel; share a coffee; befriend; assist etc etc. In addition
we propose to run an After-School Children's Club. Many of the poorer
families are unable to afford a child-minder or nanny and an
After-School Club for the local community will be invaluable for single
mums and needy families etc. The foyer area will also be available for
mother & toddler groups. Many mums are stuck away in a block of
apartments lonely, stressed and frustrated. It is vital that the
community is assisted in these bridge-building ways.
